How we look after your information

Search Jostle AI is provided by Built by Jostle Ltd. When this policy refers to "we" or "us", it means Built by Jostle Ltd. We decide how and why your personal data is processed when you use our platform.

Depending on how you use Search Jostle AI, we may process:

• Account information — your name, email address, login details, and anything you add to your profile or workspace.
• Business information — details you give us about your trade or company (for example website, services, or locations) so we can run reports and scores for you.
• Google Search Console data — if you connect Google Search Console, we process the data you authorise us to access to show visibility and performance insights.
• Usage data — for example which parts of the app you use, device and browser type, and technical logs that help us keep the service reliable and secure.
• Payment information — subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers; Stripe processes card payments and tells us what we need to manage your subscription.
• Communications — messages you send us (for example support emails) and emails we send you about your account or the service.

We use this information to:

• Run Search Jostle AI and give you access to your account and reports.
• Calculate and show your Visibility Score and related analytics.
• Send you reports, alerts, or service emails you have asked for or that relate to your account.
• Take payments, issue invoices where applicable, and manage billing.
• Answer support questions and fix problems.
• Improve the platform — for example fixing bugs, understanding which features help users, and keeping the service secure.

We do not use your data to sell your personal information to third parties.

Under UK GDPR we rely on one or more of the following, depending on what we are doing:

• Contract — processing needed to provide the service you signed up for (for example running your account and delivering reports).
• Legitimate interests — where we have a fair business reason (for example improving security, preventing fraud, or understanding how the product is used) and your rights are not overridden.
• Legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep or share certain records.
• Consent — where we ask you clearly (for example for optional marketing emails or non-essential cookies) and you agree.

We work with trusted providers who process data on our behalf or as part of delivering the product. These may include:

• Stripe — payments and billing.
• Google APIs — when you connect services such as Google Search Console.
• OpenAI — AI-assisted features where applicable.
• DataForSEO — search and SEO-related data for analytics.
• Railway and Vercel — hosting and infrastructure.

We choose providers who meet strong security standards. We never sell your personal data.

• Active accounts — we keep your data while your account is active so the service keeps working for you.
• Cancellation — after you cancel or we close your account, we aim to delete personal data within 90 days, except where we must keep it for legal, tax, or regulatory reasons.
• Stripe — payment and accounting records may be kept for longer where the law requires (often up to around seven years for financial records).

Subject to certain limits in law, you can:

• Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data in some situations.
• Portability — receive some of your data in a structured, machine-readable form.
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling in some cases.
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

We use essential cookies so the site and app work (for example keeping you logged in). We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website in aggregate.

You can control many cookies through your browser settings. Essential cookies may still be needed for core functionality.

We use HTTPS encryption for data in transit, host services with reputable providers, and follow sensible practices to reduce risk. No online service can be 100% secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.

If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal data and we are required to tell you, we will do so in line with applicable law.

We may update this page when our practices or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. For significant changes, we may also email you or show a notice in the app.
